Smart Grid

The Freestyle platform enables the concept of a Smart Grid to be brought to life by providing the glue for intelligent communications networks, digital sensors, controls for remote monitoring and operation, advanced meters collecting usage data, and automatic load management/demand response technologies that help reduce peaks in electric demand which in turn reduces the need for standby power plants.

Smart Grid technology provides "situational awareness" of the utility to allow visualisation of the network health. Integration of the information from an array of sensors measuring an extensive variety of parameters provides the operator with the tools to prevent significant outages, reduce energy losses, and decrease the impact on the environment.
